Dear St. John’s Families,

Next week, we will be celebrating National Lutheran Schools Week. The post on the LCMS website this week reminds us that “National Lutheran Schools Week provides more than 1,800 preschools, elementary schools, and high schools with the public opportunity to proclaim and celebrate God’s work among us in schools of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. We thank God for the opportunity to provide excellent academic preparation for the children we serve. We are most grateful for the opportunity to share Jesus’ amazing love with children and their families.”

As part of our celebration, we will have exciting assemblies and a wide variety of festivities. We will also participate in a service project for others, and we need your help! Students may bring as many boxes of cereal as they wish to donate to local food shelters. Our goal is to create a “domino run” of cereal boxes throughout our hallways long enough that all students can sit alongside and watch it fall. For this, we need MANY boxes of cereal. We are making this a class competition, and the class with the most boxes at school by next Thurs. will win a snow cone party with the principal. And the champion of our all-school Rock, Paper, Scissors contest on Monday will be the student to set the domino train into motion! PLEASE consider donating generously! If it’s easier to send a check, I will personally shop for cereal on behalf of the students, so let me know.

Be prepared to check out our many Facebook posts next week featuring these highlights:

  • MONDAY: Kickoff NLSW Assembly & 2nd Annual All-School Rock, Paper, Scissors Competition
  • TUESDAY: Class Door Decorating Contest
  • WEDNESDAY: Jumpin’ in the Gym – it’s a Surprise…
  • THURSDAY: Door Decorating School Tour / Eagle Search
  • FRIDAY: Chapel/Kids’ Breakfast/Closing NLSW Assembly & Cereal Domino Run

Thank you for sending your children to St. John’s Lutheran School! We love our students and families!

In His Service,

Mrs. Dolan

P.S. We apologize in advance for “sugaring up” your kiddos next week! It’s going to be crazy FUN around here.
