Exciting Staffing Updates!

We are happy to announce that Miss Laura Ellinghuysen has ACCEPTED our offer to be a contracted teacher at St. John’s.  As a reminder, Laura comes to us from Winona, MN and will be graduating from Bethany Lutheran College next week. She attended an LCMS grade school and high school, feels passionately about math and reading, and is currently the women’s basketball team captain for her college.

Last week, we offered a contract to another teacher candidate, Miss Kari Preus.  She has already ACCEPTED as well!  Kari is a member of our congregation, was a student here at St. John’s through 8th grade, and is a recent graduate from Luther College.  She is an adventurous and confident young woman with a strong passion for math, history, and athletics.

St. John’s is excited to welcome these two incredible teachers to our staff next year.  We are still fine-tuning teaching assignments, and will keep you informed as those decisions are finalized.

Finally, our church extended a call to Dr. Katie Moss to be our Director of Parish Music, and she has accepted this call.  Part of her role will be to continue to support the school’s music program with her many gifts and talents.  Katie currently leads our 3rd/4th grade choir, 5-8th grade choir, and 7/8th grade handbells.  You’ve already seen the results of her shared talents in both our Christmas program and Spring Variety Show.

Praise be to God for the gifts and talents of these faithful women and all of our teaching staff here at St. John’s!
