Dear St. John’s Eagle Families,
…And we’re back! It’s wonderful to welcome new and returning students into the building! Many of our new families have already expressed such thankfulness for the ways in which everyone has welcomed them. In a sense, we have a number of families who will be getting to know each other for the first time since we had limited opportunities for this last year. Thank you to students and parents alike for investing in this larger school family we have here at St. John’s!
As one of the 8th grade teachers, it is my responsibility to guide the students in their writing of the prayers they will offer at the end of the school day. Pastor Johnson has come to my classroom every year since I’ve been a teacher to guide them in this process initially. He visited yesterday. As students were brainstorming things for which they may thank God, one student highlighted her thankfulness to be face-to-face to learn at school again this year. It’s a good reminder that the children don’t take this for granted, either. We’ve been shown what it means to learn in person, and we pray that we can do this all year long!
I know that students AND parents are excited for the fresh beginning to this new school year for many reasons. I also know that the start of anything new may bring with it questions or concerns. I want to assure you that I am available to you if there is ever something that we need to work through together. We have a fabulous front office staff who is also here for you to answer questions or direct you to the right person for help. Blessings as we finish the first week of school. May your Labor Day weekend be restful!
In joyful service,
