Dear Families,

On behalf of the Board of Education and our Call Committee, I wanted to update you on staffing plans for next year.

We will be saying goodbye to the following people: Amy Peterson (K – expecting a baby in July), Miriam Armstrong (4 – moving to TN), Elizabeth Koehler (5-8 – expecting a baby in October), Carrie Weigman (nurse – finishing graduate school as an NP), Lynn Schutte (hot lunch manager – retiring after 22 years!), Gina Bussing (hot lunch – completing nursing school) and John Draskovich (custodial manager – retiring). We are so grateful for the many years and incredible gifts these individuals have shared with us here at St. John’s. We wish them God’s richest blessings as they embark on the various new adventures named here!

As you know, we have two new teachers who will be joining our staff next year: Laura Ellinghuysen will be teaching 4th grade, and Kari Preus will be teaching courses in 5th-8th grade. We will internally fill any remaining teaching needs from within our current staff. Our 5th and 6th grade classes will only be combined for PE and Fine Arts next year as we have larger incoming classes for those grades. One of our current preschool teachers, Anna Fuhrman, will be shifting into the role as our Kindergarten teacher. We have plans to internally fill the preschool role as needed according to enrollment numbers. We are excited to announce that Liz Glock has newly accepted the role as our school nurse for next year!

We are still searching for a hot lunch coordinator, a custodial manager, and aides for our ESP program. If you or anyone you know would have the necessary skills and passion to serve our school in these capacities, please reach out to me right away!

God continues to provide in bountiful ways according to His perfect plans for St. John’s. Thank you to our Call Committee and Board of Education members for their faithful work in securing the right people to serve among us. Your dedication is so appreciated!
