Dear Families,  

Welcome to the 2022-23 academic year at St. John’s!  It has been a joy to have kids in the building all summer for ESP, and we are excited to have all of our students in the building soon.  We are hard at work this month to prepare for the start of the year.  Communication is key, and there are many things to relay to you in this newsletter that will help to make the return to school as seamless as possible.  Please read all of the information carefully.  

Did you know that St. John’s is part of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod in which “more than 1,200 early childhood centers and preschools are operated by congregations and Christian day schools within the LCMS. More than 87,000 children, ranging in age from infant/toddler to 5 years of age, are involved in these programs. Additionally, our congregations operate 880 elementary schools which serve approximately 113,000 students.” What a privilege to be part of such a big family in Christ!

Along with that privilege comes the responsibility to share with others about Jesus.  Our theme for this school year comes from the LCMS School Ministry Office: “Making Disciples for Life” based on Matthew 28:18-20:  And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and earth has been given to me.  Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.  And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”   As we anticipate another year of learning, working, and playing together, we look to Jesus and His command to serve each other and those in our larger community and world.
